2-Year Bachelors Programs

2-YEAR BACHELORS PROGRAMS

These programs have been specially designed to provide an opportunity for students to obtain a 2-Year Bachelors degree for early entry into the job market, in order to gain practical experience. They may then return and continue seamlessly into their respective 4-year programs at a later stage. After successful completion of their first four semesters, students may apply for the 2-Year degree or continue with the 4-year BS program. These programs provide an opportunity to qualify for a 2-Year Bachelors degree in the following subjects:

• B.Sc (Computer Science)
• B.Com
• BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration)
• BA (Psychology)
• BA (Mass Communication)

Duration:

It is 2-Year full time study program spread over four semesters. Each semester has 18 weeks duration for teaching and examinations.

Eligibility Requirements:

The minimum entry requirement is Intermediate or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution with at least 45% marks.

Admission application forms are same for 2-year and 4-year bachelor degree programs.

Assessment of Study Progress:

The students’ study progress evaluation mechanism is based on continuous assessment throughout the semester by giving assignments, on-line quizzes, Graded Moderated Discussion Boards (GMDBs), mid-term and final term exams. The mid-term and final term exams are conducted at VU’s designated centers and usually count for 80 to 85% of the total marks for a course.

Award of Degree:

To be eligible for the award of 2-Year Bachelors degree, the students are required to complete 60 credit hours with minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average of 2.00 out of 4.00. The students after obtaining 2-Year degree can complete their 4-Year BS degree requirements at any time by successfully completing remaining minimum 72 credit hours in at least four semesters.

Course of Study:

The courses are listed in a semester wise breakup. The courses may be revised from time to time as a result of continuous review conducted every term to bring them at par with courses being taught at top-class foreign universities. While reviewing the courses, needs of local industry and job market are also given full consideration.

Fee Structure:
Tuition Fees and Expenses

Tuition fee rates are fixed and are independent of the number of courses being taught in one semester. Security, Admission and Registration fee are charged once at the start of the first semester. The remaining charges are payable quarterly. Security fee is refundable on completion of degree or in case of withdrawal from the University.

MCS, MIT, MBA Programs

Tuition fee	Rs. 2,000 per month

Fee payable at the time of admission is Rs. 9,000 (includes admission fee, registration fee and security).

BS Programs

Admission Fee	Rs. 2,000 one time
Registration Fee	Rs. 500 one time
Security	Rs. 2,000 (one time, refundable)
Tuition fee	Rs. 1,300 per month

Fee payable at the time of admission is Rs. 4,500 (includes admission fee, registration fee and security).

Diploma in CS & IT

Admission Fee	Rs. 2,000 one time
Registration Fee	Rs. 500 one time
Security	Rs. 2,000 (one time, refundable)
Tuition fee	Rs. 1,850 per month

Fee payable at the time of admission is Rs. 4,500 (includes admission fee, registration fee and security).

Certificate Programs

Registration Fee	Rs. 500 one time
Course fee	Rs. 2,500 per course

Fee payable at the time of admission is Rs. 3,000 for new students and Rs. 2,500 for students who are already registered with the Virtual University.

Overseas Fee Structure
A student should deposit his/her fee through FTT (Foreign Telegraph Transfer) or bank draft inclusive of Bank charges that is minimum up to $15 per transaction.

MCS, MIT, MBA Programs

BS Programs

* Payment may be made through Bank Demand draft in favor of "Virtual University, Lahore" or Telegraphic Transfer (Virtual University of A/C No 3464-12, Habib Bank Ltd, Stock Exchange Branch, Lahore, Pakistan.

All Programs

The schedule for the payment of dues will be notified at the start of each semester. The fees will be deposited in the authorized bank branches by the date announced. If the candidate, once offered admission in a degree program, enrolls himself/herself by depositing university dues and subsequently leaves the university under any circumstances, the university dues already deposited by him shall not be refunded (except security fee) in any case. Refund of tuition fee and other dues can be made to a student only if the University considers the student to be ineligible for the enrollment in a semester.

University dues for short professional courses and overseas Pakistani students will be notified from time to time. Students falling in any of these categories are requested to check on the University’s web site.
